One’s desire to have a child is a vulnerable topic that is often associated with many desires and expectations. We would like to sensitize you to be vigilant in our childbearing community despite your great desire to have children:
Familyship is a digital place where many people come together. Most of them have good intentions, probably similar to yours – namely, to fulfill their desire to have children. But even with Familyship there are unfortunately conflicts, disappointments and also people who have other intentions than they pretend.
Should a:e user:in disregard rules, we as operators of Familyship can take action if it can be proven that our General Terms and Conditions are violated. Should a violation of legal regulations occur outside of Familyship, we unfortunately have no recourse. In this case, the injured party must contact the police and have civil or criminal proceedings investigated.
Security of your data
Familyship takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We use current technologies and concepts to protect your data from unauthorized access by third parties. Our privacy policy contains comprehensive information about what data is processed when you use Familyship. If you have any questions about this topic, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Deletion of your data
As a registered Familyship member you can delete your data at any time. To do this, log in to the community and click on “Settings”. There you click on the button “Delete account (no refund)”. Your account and all associated data will then be irrevocably deleted.
The financial transaction data associated with your account (e.g., proof of when a payment was received from you), as well as written documents such as emails containing contract information, must be retained for six years due to legal retention requirements.
Encrypted communication
When you exchange messages in the Familyship Community, this is done in encrypted form.
Choosing your password
To log in, you will need a password that meets our security requirements. This must be at least twelve characters long.
Reporting system
In order to provide a secure platform, we rely on your assistance. As a registered Familyship member you have the possibility to report other users who violate our terms of use. Users who demonstrably violate our terms of use will – depending on the severity of the misconduct – be warned or immediately excluded from the community. If you believe that a user is in violation of the law, please let us know. In order to prosecute the offense, you must report the violation of the law to the investigating authorities (local police).
Here are some more hints and safety tips that you should definitely keep in mind while searching through Familyship.
COMMUNICATION WITH OTHERS
- Use Familyship’s messaging feature to exchange ideas. Do not give out private communication data (e-mail, cell phone number, etc.) to people you do not know (well).
- Be cautious about providing personal information such as your address or date of birth, and about providing information about your employer.
- Send private photos only to people you already know a little better.
THE FIRST MEETING
- If you’re meeting someone alone for the first time, arrange to meet in a public place, not an apartment.
- Inform another person when and where you have a date.
- Be sure to have your cell phone with you at the meeting.
BEFORE THE FIRST ATTEMPTS
- Get to know the person well (even if he is “only” to be a sperm donor) before you make the first attempts to initiate a pregnancy and clarify your expectations for the attempts at procreation and subsequent contact decisively.
- When you get to know someone better, ask to see his/her ID card at least before the first few attempts to make sure he/she is who he/she says he/she is.
- Ask to see current health documents before you start your first tests.
